The board on June 26, 2010 held a breakfast meeting at Methodist Guest House with Kawangware and Ngando pastors to interact, strengthen and reinforce discipleship outreach and skills to help believers in both areas. The meeting brought together eight pastors from Free Pentecostal Church-Ngando, Kawangware Kenya Assemblies of God, Maranatha Faith Church, Gatina United, Christ Harvest Revival Church, Metropolitan Church, New Kawangware Day and Free Pentecostal Church Kawangware. Francis Kataka the Spiritual Site Manager gave the purpose of CCP’s Spiritual Ministry which was to evangelize, disciple and equip children, youth and adults. However, Francis recognized presence of cults particularly in Kawangware hindering the growth of believers causing some to fall back to false doctrines of the cults. In a discussion that ensued, most pastors agreed with Francis that there was a great challenge and a lack of seriousness in the area of discipleship in most churches. They also pointed out that Sunday School was a ministry that most churches lacked trained and skilled teachers to teach children the word of God. Francis posed a challenge to the pastors to work hard in discipling new believers to know God’s truth and develop spiritual disciplines to stand. Francis also unveiled CCP’s discipleship program for children, youth and adults and urged churches to work along side CCP in discipling believers. Some pastors asked for help in training children workers and time to interact with CCP’s discipleship materials. James Behr, CCP’s CEO also informed the pastors of Francis departure to lead Tumaini Church in Kwa Njenga slums and also introduced Boniface Saringe as the new Spiritual Site Manager.
