Hygiene Training
Ngando guardians were on June 12, 2010 reminded of the importance of body hygiene at a training held at Talents Academy. The training also covered the signs and symptoms of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD’s) as well an illustration of the proper use of condoms. The training facilitated by Jane Owino, facilitator from NAWEPO helped guardians recap the need to shower, change inner wear and clothes everyday. Jane also spoke about the signs and symptoms of Gonorrhea, Syphilis, and HIV/AIDs amongst others. She urged the group to seek medical earliest possible as most of the STD’s were curable except HIV/AIDs. Jane also told guardians to practice faithfulness to one sexual partner and seek medical help as a couple incase of infection. The use of condom was also emphasized to protect one against STD’s and also prevent re-infection. She also spoke about Candidiasis, an infection found among women but not sexually transmitted. She urged women to seek medical help as the infection was normal and curable. Thereafter, each guardian received a bag of food for the month.
