Learn to Fear God
Ngando Guardians were reminded to fear God at an evangelistic message held at the Free Pentecostal Church on May 12, 2010. Boniface Sinkale, Spiritual Ministry Lead, said the fear of God meant to dread, be afraid and terrified. To fear God begun with being taught God’s word. “It is not casually absorbed,” he cautioned. Therefore it was important for one to hear God's word and learn how to fear Him (God). As guardians cultivated this, it was also important to teach the same to their children. Mr. Sinkale went ahead to give two kinds of people; those who feared and those who did not fear God. He asked guardians to evaluate their lives and see which category they fit. He said those who feared God pleased Him citing examples from the Bible of such as Abraham and Nehemiah among others. Jonah was one example that disobeyed God and had to learn the hard way by obeying God’s command. To fear God meant to be afraid to displease God as well as to respect Him. He urged guardians to fear God by obeying God’s word, being dedicated to God’s service, hating sin, honoring & respecting God and treating others right. “Love the lord with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself”, he concluded. Each family received a monthly bag of food after the message.
