The Fear of God
“There is nothing more valuable than the fear of God,” stated Pastor Francis Kataka, the Spiritual Site Manager. This was at an evangelistic message held on May 15th, 2010 at Free Pentecostal Church, Kawangware. The sermon came from the Bible in the book of Psalms 34:11-22. The three key factors resulting from the fear of God were: constructive use of tongue, goodness and peace. The fear of God leads into positive use of the tongue, a weapon which could either build or destroy. At the same time, guardians were advised to depart from evil and do good as it was one way to avoid wickedness. “When you do bad or good things, you do it to yourself,” said Pst. Francis. Anyone who feared God would pursue peace within him/herself and with everyone. Pst. Francis concluded that the joy of life was not in material possession but in the fear of God. At the end of the sermon, guardians with various prayer requests were prayed for. Thereafter, each family received their monthly food bag.
