Children’s Prayer Day
This year’s first Good News Clubs (GNC) children’s prayer day was held on February 20, 2010 at the CCP’s Community Center, Kawangware. Children learnt how to worship God through prayer and studying of the Bible. Nicholas Abuti, a Volunteer, shared the word of God from the book of Mathew 4:10 and reminded children that God is worshiped in truth and spirit. He informed them that worship is appreciating God for who he is, what he has done and what he is doing. He encouraged them to keep on seeking God for he answers prayers. The children learnt various aspects of prayer such as confession, supplication and thanksgiving and later on led through a personal time with God as guided by their GNC teachers. At the peak of the event, some of the children presented poems, memory verses, and dances. This terms GNC theme has been Worship. Children have been learning on when, where to worship and the acts of worship being confession, praise, prayer, giving, fasting and studying God’s word. GNC is a Bible Study program for children between 4 to 8yrs. Children are taught the word of God through Bible lessons, discussion, drama, illustrations and activities such as games. They meet every Saturday for 2 hours at various GNC venues in Kawangware and Ngando slums.
