The First Guardian’s Training
This year’s first guardian’s training with an Evangelistic message was held on January 9th, 2009 at Full Gospel Church, Kawangware. Pastor Francis Kataka, the Spiritual Site Manager spoke about ‘Decision Making,’ from the Bible in the book of Luke 16:19 about the rich man and Lazarus. Just like Lazarus embraced God and had eternal life unlike the rich man, Pst. Francis said that every one had a choice to make about the kind of life he/she wants to live and called upon guardians to emulate Lazarus. “Your future life is determined by today’s decision,” Pst. Francis said. He therefore encouraged them to make positive choices that would impact positively their future. Pst. Francis reminded guardian’s that life and death belonged to one’s decision. He urged them to seek God first and involve Him (God) in their decision making for He is the only way, truth and life. Six guardians gave their lives to Christ. James Behr, CCP’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chairman of the Board informed guardians of the organization’s 2010 plans. He asked for guardians’ cooperation and wished them a happy new year. On the same day, Monthly Food Distribution to each sponsored family took place and school items for each child in the Sponsorship program. These items included two pairs of uniforms, school shoes, exercise books and stationery courtesy of the children sponsors. In addition, each child in the program also received a pair of rubber shoes and gumboots as Christmas gifts from Christ Church of the Valley members in California, USA.
