A Game Drive to the Nairobi National Park
A group of 18 Super Juniors children accompanied by five members of staff on December 1, 2009 took a morning game drive into the Nairobi National Park. The children saw lots of animals such as Zebras, Waterbucks, Wildebeests, Elands, Bushbacks Antelopes, Impalas, Giraffes, Buffalos, Ostriches, An Owl, a Hippo, a Tortoise, Marabou Storks, Warthogs, Baboons and Black Rhinos. In the afternoon, the group headed to Impala Picnic Site and children played games and had a debriefing moment with Medical and Sponsorship Site Managers. Lunch followed as the children were served with mouth watering dishes to crown the day after which the children and staff headed back home. The Nairobi National Park is located 7 kms from the heart of Kenya’s capital city, Nairobi. It has a mixture of ecosystems such as the Savannah comprising of different vegetation types such as open grass plains, scattered acacia. The park also has a highland dry forest, permanent river and riverine forest and manmade dams, a home to some species of birds.
