Sponsorship Christmas Party
The Kawangware and Ngando sponsored children and their guardians were hosted to a colorful Christmas Party held on December 5th 2009 at Hope Center, Kawangware. It was an exciting moment for guardians and the CCP staff as children entertained them with an excellent exhibition of their talents through songs, dances, poems and memory verses. Later on, guardians joined children in a competition of eating as cheers engulfed the hall. Mr. Francis Ndegwa, an Administrator from Lea Toto, appreciated CCP for ensuring that children’s rights are respected. Mr. Ndegwa reminded parents and guardians to protect their children and provide them with basic needs. James Behr, the CCP’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chairman of the Board, reminded guardians that Christmas meant keeping Christ in the heart. He therefore called upon them to remember the Lord during the Christmas holiday and wished them a merry Christmas. After the speeches, outstanding children, parents and guardians were awarded for their excellent performance. Each sponsored child received a Christmas gift comprising of a blanket, inner wear, a gift pack containing toys and pens. Each child will also receive a pair of new gumboots and rubber shoes next year courtesy of Christ Church of Valley. A luncheon followed where guardians and children were served to a delicious feast. At the peak of the party, every family received a Monthly Food share and an extra Christmas gift which comprised of Cooking Oil (1kg), Sugar (2kgs) and Wheat flour (4kgs) locally known as ‘Chapati flour.’ CCP expressed gratitude to members of the Christ Church of the Valley (CCV) from California, USA for their generous contribution of the money towards the gifts. CCV is the founder of CCP and also funds it’s programs in Kawangware and Ngando slums, Nairobi.
